The Best Coffee Roasting
• American roast: The coffee beans are only medium roasted, and so the taste is not to strong and not too light ( medium brew ).
• French roast and dark French roast: The beans are heavily roasted, resulting in a deep chocolate brown brew that produces the strongest coffee taste.
• Italian roast: This type of roast is used for the Italian espressos, strong and brown-black, glossy and with a strong flavour.
• European roast: The blend combination is of two-thirds heavy-roast coffee beans with one-third regular-roast.
• Viennese roast: This type is one third heavy roasted coffee beans with two thirds of regular roast.
• Instant coffee: Instant coffee is a very commercial canned powder made of heat-dried freshly brewed coffee.
• Freeze-dried coffee: brewed coffee that has been frozen into a slush before the water is evaporated, this version is normally more expensive than instant coffee types but with a superior flavor.
• Decaffeinated coffee: The caffeine is removed from the coffee using a chemical that later is not traceably anymore. Another method is the use of the Swiss water process which steams the beans and then scrapes off the caffeine-laden outer layers. Both processes are used.
